“Charming, alluring Istanbul, with its incredible streets, wall graffiti, palaces, squares, towers, cathedrals, mosques, hills, smiling cats lying in the shade of ancient trees. A city of contrasts and impressions. A city enveloping in the aromas of coffee and Turkish sweets, making you freeze when the call to prayer is heard everywhere.
Program:
19th century palace DOLMABAHCE
Let's start our day at the luxurious Dolmabahce Palace, the last residence of the sultans. This palace and its surrounding area leaves no one indifferent. The history of the Dolmabahce Palace began with the desire of Sultan Abdulmecid I to build a palace that, with its luxurious decoration, surpasses all known palaces of European rulers. The construction of Dolmabahce was entrusted to the architects Karapet and Nikogos Balyanomami. Its ceilings and walls are covered with gold, rooms and halls are furnished with antique French furniture. Visitors to the palace can also view extensive collections of clocks, paintings, carpets, Bohemian crystal, candlesticks and vases. The territory of the palace is 45 thousand square meters, it has 265 rooms, 46 large halls, 68 toilet rooms and six baths. You will enjoy walking through the park area and the splendor of the palace itself.
Taksim
Previously, the square was the center of water supply, and its name comes from the modified maksem, which means "reservoir" in Turkish. In the center of the square, since 1928, there has been a 12-meter-high Republic monument. Numerous figures of liberator heroes are depicted on the pedestal, including marshals Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Fevzi Chakmak, Ismet İnönü and ordinary people. The Soviet Union played an important role in Turkey's struggle for independence by providing military and financial assistance. In gratitude for this, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk ordered to perpetuate Kliment Voroshilov and Semyon Aralov, who is often mistaken for Mikhail Frunze, to the left of his figure. You will see the legendary red retro tram and you will be able to take vivid photos. We will show you the liveliest Istiklal Street, where there is a noisy atmosphere. Istiqlal never sleeps. This is a paradise for shopaholics, as there are many branded boutiques, chain stores and themed shops, as well as restaurants, bars, embassy buildings and churches.
Galata Tower
Ascent to the observation deck, the most romantic symbol of the city - the Galata Tower, built by the Genoese in the middle of the XIV century. Despite its advanced age, the tower has a modern elevator.
We will walk around the outskirts of Galata, ride through the historical tunnel (the 2nd metro in the world in 1875) and walk along the Galata bridge to Karaköy.
